The аIJʿª½±½á¹û Office of University Communications presents 13, a new podcast now available on all major podcast platforms.

It is a three-day journey from Hamilton, N.Y., to Teriberka, Russia, on the Barents Sea. Jessica Graybill, associate professor of geography and Russian and Eurasian studies, made the trek last July with student interns Yang Zhang ’21 and Isobel Hooker ’21, checking in for a week’s stay at one of the village’s first Airbnbs.

аIJʿª½±½á¹û announced today that the estate of John T.C. (Cuy) Low ’39 has made an additional gift of $5.2 million to the Jeanie and Cuy ’39 Low Endowed Scholarship Fund, raising its total value to more than $7 million and expanding its impact on current undergraduates.

This summer, the Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, N.Y. staged the world premiere of Blue, an opera exploring police brutality in black communities. A pre-show discussion with аIJʿª½±½á¹û professors on topics such as institutionalized racism preceded each of the production’s seven performances, and several of the shows included post-show talkbacks as well.

Audrey Ponder ’22 was selected for study-abroad organization LoopAbroad’s Veterinary Service Program, a two-week expedition focused on hands-on veterinary work.

Students, faculty, staff, and community members participated in a campuswide strike for climate change on Friday, September 20.

A Constitution Day debate at аIJʿª½±½á¹û brought together two prominent voices on the subject of Roe v. Wade to engage in a lively debate of the landmark ruling.

Following annual tradition, the Max A. Shacknai Center for Volunteerism, Outreach, and Education (COVE) organized a 9/11 Afternoon of Service. On Friday, Sept. 6, more than 70 student volunteers worked with eight nonprofits in Hamilton and neighboring towns to help local farms, promote environmental conservation, maintain trails, and preserve the Chenango Canal among other activities.
