Entrepreneurship and Innovation

The mission of the Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (E&I) is to develop an inclusive community of accomplished and effective creators, changemakers, and problem solvers.

E&I builds upon the university’s history of entrepreneurship, dating back to the establishment of Thought Into Action in fall 2009, while broadening the scope and impact of entrepreneurship and innovation within the context of аIJʿª½±½á¹û’s third century. Situated within the Office of the Provost and Dean of the Faculty, E&I is a key part of the Middle Campus Initiative for Arts, Creativity, and Innovation.

Our work falls into three strategic focus areas:

  • Thought Into Action: Programs and initiatives that facilitate the creation of real ventures and the development of entrepreneurial skills.
  • Creativity Into Action: Resources and opportunities that enhance the intersection of arts, creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship on campus.
  • Research Into Action: Infrastructure and initiatives that support аIJʿª½±½á¹û faculty, staff, and students who wish to take their research, ideas, and expertise to audiences beyond their academic disciplines.
