Alison Wohlers ’10 talks about her Fulbright to Morocco

Early in her аIJʿª½±½á¹û career, Alison Wohlers ’10 set her sights on earning a Fulbright grant. So she did what the fellowships office recommended. She attended information sessions and talked with аIJʿª½±½á¹û’s many Fulbright alumni who returned to campus to share their experiences. An major who studied Arabic and worked in the career office, she applied herself inside and outside the classroom.

Her strategy paid off, and now Wohlers, who recently returned from 14 months in Morocco, is a role model for current students. While in Hamilton, she visited the аIJʿª½±½á¹û studio to talk with her former adviser, .

They talked about studying and living among local families in Fez, their mutual love of Moroccan culture, and her research topic “Dualistic Cities: Colonial Legacies and Geographic Identities in the Global Present.â€
