Two academic freedom experts, Keith Whittington of Yale Law School and Ulrich Baer of New York University, made their cases for the role and scope of free speech in higher education during �°IJʿ������’s 2024 Constitution Day Debate.

�°IJʿ������’s Constitution Day Debate on Sept. 13 focused on the constitutionality of the administrative state.

Professor of Political Science and the Director of the Forum on Race and Public Policy Nina M. Moore has been appointed to a four-year team on the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct, New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced last week. 

Professor of Sociology and Arnold A. Sio Chair of Community and Diversity Janel Benson has received the 2023 Phi Eta Sigma National Honorary Society Professor of the Year Award.

Throughout the 2022 academic year, students in �°IJʿ������’s Teacher Preparation Program (TPP) raised approximately 75 brook trout. On April 21, they released them into Taylor Lake. 

On April 20, LaToya Eaves, Menakka and Essel Bailey ’66 Distinguished Visiting Scholar in the College of the Environment at Wesleyan University, delivered the 2023 Peter Gould Memorial Lecture, sponsored by the Department of Geography.

Assistant Professor of Educational Studies Brenda Sanya has been awarded a fellowship by the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program.
