Haven, аIJʿª½±½á¹û’s sexual violence resource center, celebrated its fifth anniversary on Thursday, Oct. 28, in a ceremony honoring those who were instrumental to its creation in 2016.

The new Spear House parking lot may look mostly the same as before, but massive stormwater storage chambers and other improvements make this project a substantial investment in sustainable infrastructure at аIJʿª½±½á¹û.

Barry R. Baron, associate university chaplain and campus rabbi, will serve as university chaplain, beginning his three-year term on July 1. He will succeed Protestant Campus Minister Corey MacPherson, who has served as university chaplain since 2017.

Last week, faculty and staff from several departments spearheaded an effort to provide and deliver care packages to 243 students in residence on campus.

аIJʿª½±½á¹û’s Ho Tung Visualization Lab played a starring role in Data to Dome, the first iteration of the international planetarium conference ever to be hosted in the United States.

During the past three weeks, аIJʿª½±½á¹û waved farewell to the Bicentennial Class of 2019 and hosted more than 4,000 alumni, families, and friends for the Bicentennial All-Class Reunion. Visitors encountered a campus of distinctive beauty, thanks in part to the grounds and custodial crews who work behind the scenes.

In honor of аIJʿª½±½á¹û’s Bicentennial year, the Picker Art Gallery is hosting a special traveling exhibition, Koolanga Boodja Neh Nidjuuk (Children Looking and Listening on Country), through June 30.

April 4–6 marked the campus debut of hybrid media artist Paul Catanese’s avant-garde opera Century of Progress / Sleep. The Ho Tung Visualization Laboratory was transformed for the production.

Paul Catanese, hybrid media artist from Chicago and this year’s Christian A. Johnson Endeavor Foundation Artist-in-Residence, recently completed a slate of technical workshops, open rehearsals, video shoots, and class visits as part of his residency at аIJʿª½±½á¹û.

Strategic diversity consultant Nevin Caple led a series of inclusion workshops with athletics staff and student-athletes last month at the invitation of Vice President and Director of Athletics Nicki Moore.
