University Chaplain and Protestant Campus Minister Corey MacPherson completed three months of arduous training at Fort Jackson in the humidity of South Carolina last summer to become a U.S. Army Reserve chaplain.

�°IJʿ������’s associate vice president for emergency management, campus safety, and environmental health and safety has another title when he isn’t on campus: U.S. Air Force master sergeant.

This Veterans Day, �°IJʿ������ is paying tribute to the men and women of America’s armed forces. The university wants to thank alumni, parents, and current students who have served their country — and the numerous alumni who work on behalf of veterans, helping them transition back to civilian life.

Starting this fall, qualified military veterans can attend �°IJʿ������ tuition-free, thanks to an agreement between the university and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The university will take part in the new Yellow Ribbon Program, a component of the Post-9/11 GI Bill, which makes earning a college degree more affordable for veterans.
