Historically, young adults have the lowest rate of voter turnout of all groups. In 2016, only 48% of аIJʿª½±½á¹û students voted. The аIJʿª½±½á¹û Vote Project — a student volunteer organization — hopes to change that.

As a child, Hannah Spotts ’20, absolutely loved reading. Now, she shares her enthusiasm for the written word with local students as a Liberty Kids volunteer.

Following annual tradition, the Max A. Shacknai Center for Volunteerism, Outreach, and Education (COVE) organized a 9/11 Afternoon of Service. On Friday, Sept. 6, more than 70 student volunteers worked with eight nonprofits in Hamilton and neighboring towns to help local farms, promote environmental conservation, maintain trails, and preserve the Chenango Canal among other activities.

In May, аIJʿª½±½á¹û community members traveled to Puerto Rico for a week devoted to hurricane relief. The group performed service work at Plenitud, a non-profit educational farm and learning center located in the mountains of western Puerto Rico near a town called Las Marias.
