Hamilton, NY — The аIJʿª½±½á¹û women’s basketball team announced the recipients of the 2003-04 team awards at its banquet on Sunday.  The Raiders posted the most impressive season in school history this year with a school record 21 wins en route to the program’s first Patriot League regular season and tournament championships.

Senior tri-captain Emily Damuth (Saginaw, Mich.) was honored by her teammates with the Sparks Award and the Rehder-Sixth Player Award.  The Sparks Award, named in honor of former Raider and four-time hustle award winner Sarah Parks, is given annually to the player that demonstrates relentless hustle and drive throughout the season.  The Rehder Sixth Player Award, named in honor of the award’s first recipient Nichole Rehder ’95, is given to the player who embodies the assets of a true team player.

Forwards Milaina Lagzdins (Burlington, Ont.) and Leandra Fuller (Harrisburg, Pa.) received the Coach’s Award as the team’s unsung heroes.  Chigozie Ozor (Ann Arbor, Mich.) was named the Most Valuable Defensive Player after leading the team and ranking second in the conference with 2.8 steals per game.
