In the opener, senior pitcher Elena Isaac (Chandler, AZ) picked up her third shutout of the season and seventh win. She worked seven innings, allowing three hits, striking out two and walking none. She is the second player in аIJʿª½±½á¹û history and fifth in Patriot League history to post 50 career wins.
аIJʿª½±½á¹û scored three unearned runs in the first inning and that would be all they needed. Erin Hanna (Tucson, AZ), who walked, scored on a Green Bay fielding error and then with two outs, junior outfielder Dorothy Donaldson (Lakeland, FL) hit her fourth home run of the season driving in two runs.
Against Dayton, the Raiders fell behind 1-0 in the third inning when the Flyers scored off аIJʿª½±½á¹û starter Kate Howard (Wheaton, IL). In the fourth inning, Donaldson hit a two-run homer to give аIJʿª½±½á¹û a 2-1 lead. She had a streak of five home runs in 11 at bats over the last four games ‘ a one point she hit three consecutive homers.
Dayton won the game in the fifth inning, when Tiffany Ward hit a two-run homer off Howard (3-2) over the left field fence.
