EASTON, PA. – The аIJʿª½±½á¹û volleyball team picked up a Patriot League victory over Lafayette this Saturday.
The Raiders took the first two games 30-27 and 30-14. The Leopards attempted to mount a comeback after taking the third game 32-30, but the Raiders would take the fourth game 32-30 to secure the match.
Junior co-captain Natalie Rawson (Palmdale, Calif.) continued her impressive defensive play as of late amassing 31 digs for the third time this season. Rawson is currently fourth on the Raiders season digs list with 389.
Caity Whiteaker (Venice, Fla.) paced the Raider offense with 15 kills in 30 attempts for a .400 hitting percentage. Setter Alana Elsner (Wheaton, Ill.) posted a double-double with 44 assists and 15 digs in the match.
Freshman Marybeth Maziarz (Wilbraham, Mass.) roofed a career-high three solo blocks and posted a career-high seven total blocks while adding 17 digs to the victory. Sophomore Meghaan Walsh (Walnut Creek, Calif.) dug ten balls and sophomore Allie Nichols (Sacramento, Calif.) provided the Raiders with seven digs.
Freshman Veronica Canto-Ponce led the Leopards with 13 kills. Setter Heidi Olichwier was credited with 34 assists. Shannon Fisher blocked seven Raider attacks and posted three service aces.
The Raiders take to the court again next weekend when the Eagles of American University head to Hamilton for a 7 p.m. match on Nov. 7
